In a bid to cement Lagos State University (LASU) as a vital pillar in the state, the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Badejo, has called on the university’s Senate to strategize towards making the institution an indispensable entity within Lagos. This appeal comes as part of Prof. Badejo’s commitment to elevate LASU’s status and influence, according to a report by Tribune Online.
Prof. Badejo emphasized the need for LASU to collaborate with various sectors in Lagos, particularly the government, private enterprises, and non-governmental organizations, to foster a mutually beneficial relationship. By doing so, the university can contribute significantly to Lagos’ socio-economic development, the Vice-Chancellor posited.
The new LASU leader further expressed his intention to work closely with the state government to ensure that the university’s curriculum aligns with the needs of the modern workforce and the ever-evolving Lagos economy.
As Lagos State continues to grow and develop, the importance of a well-equipped and forward-thinking educational institution like LASU cannot be overstated. By positioning the university as an indispensable asset to the city, Prof. Badejo aims to secure LASU’s role as a vital catalyst for progress and innovation in Lagos.
