A luxury goods dealer known as KC Luxury and two others have been remanded by a Federal High Court in Lagos over allegations of cocaine trafficking and money laundering. The dealings, reported to be worth N39 billion, were uncovered by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to reports from Punch Newspapers, THISDAYLIVE, Nigeria Lagos on Google News, and Tribune Online, the defendants include social media influencer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury. The other two suspects are not yet publicly identified.
The NDLEA claims that it intercepted 184.5kg of cocaine destined for export, leading to the arrest and subsequent arraignment of the trio.
In court documents obtained by Punch Newspapers, KC Luxury is said to have paid N13.2 million from a Mallamawa Ventures Zenith Bank account to BOT Express Logistics as consideration for the shipment. The NDLEA believes that this transfer may be connected to the drug trafficking charges.
This is not the first time KC Luxury has been linked to illegal activities. In 2024, he was arrested in connection with a multi-million dollar fraud involving bank loans and real estate deals. He was eventually released due to lack of evidence.
