Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has arrived in camp in Uyo ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying clash against Madagascar, according to multiple Nigerian media outlets. The arrival of the Udinese of Italy goalkeeper marks the completion of the squad for the match against Madagascar on October 1st and a subsequent encounter with Guinea-Bissau four days later. According to Super Eagles media officer, Promise Efoghe, Okoye landed in Uyo on Friday morning. This development comes after the team’s first two training sessions without their goalkeeper.
Okoye was the final member of Nigeria’s 24-man squad to arrive in camp, as reported by Vanguard News and Daily Post Nigeria. The arrival of the 25-year-old means head coach Éric Chelle now has all the players he needs for the qualifiers.
