The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed that one of its combat helicopters made a precautionary landing in Benue State following a successful close air support mission against suspected bandits, according to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria and Tribune Online. The high command of the NAF revealed that the helicopter, after its mission in the Ogbadigbo area of Benue State, near the Enugu–Benue boundary, made a safe landing due to a technical issue, which was later resolved. This is not the first time such an incident has occurred; just days ago, a fatal crash involving a NAF ATR-42 aircraft occurred in another part of the country, underscoring the challenges faced by the service in maintaining operational readiness. The NAF has not commented on when the facility began operating or the specific technical issue that led to the precautionary landing.
