The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Allied Democrats Party (ADP) have met the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to correct the names of candidates omitted from their published lists for the 2027 elections. According to reports from Vanguard News, the NDC met the October 24 deadline earlier this week, while the ADP’s status remains unclear. This development comes as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also met the same deadline for correcting the names of omitted candidates. The PDP’s National Organising Secretary, Captain Umar Bature (rtd), confirmed that the affected candidates include governorship hopefuls in Gombe and Ogun states. The deadline was set to ensure a fair and transparent electoral process in the 2027 elections. It is important to note that the deadline was met following pressure from various political parties and stakeholders who have raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in previous elections. With the 2027 elections rapidly approaching, it is crucial for all political parties to adhere to the electoral guidelines and ensure a smooth and peaceful transition of power.
