According to reports from THISDAYLIVE, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has unveiled its financial records for the past seven months. The party has disclosed that it generated N8.529 billion from nomination forms, membership dues, and levies, while spending N2.4 billion during this period. The NDC, which is set to challenge the ruling party in the forthcoming elections, has been under scrutiny due to its financial dealings. This disclosure is a significant step towards transparency and accountability in the political sphere. However, it remains unclear how this income was utilized, and the NDC has not said when the facility began operating. The party’s financial transparency is crucial in building trust among Nigerians, particularly ahead of the elections.
