In a bid to enhance the infrastructure of Igbobi College, the prestigious educational institution in Lagos, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), Akintunde Sawyerr, has called for increased support from old students.
Sawyerr made this appeal during a recent visit to the college, where he expressed concern over the state of the school’s facilities. He emphasized the need for alumni to contribute financially towards the renovation and modernization of the college’s infrastructure.
According to a report by Punch Newspapers, Sawyerr highlighted the importance of Igbobi College as a key institution in shaping future leaders and stressed the need to invest in its development.
The call for support comes as the college grapples with aging facilities that require significant investment to bring them up to modern standards. The Nigerian education sector has faced numerous challenges in recent years, with inadequate funding and infrastructure being among the most pressing issues.
The NELFUND MD’s appeal underscores the need for collective action to address these challenges and ensure that institutions like Igbobi College can continue to provide quality education to Nigerian students.
