NGX Group Emphasizes Women’s Financial Empowerment and Investor Protection at FinTribe Finance Fair 2026
The Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group) has emphasized the importance of women's financial empowerment and investor protection at the recent FinTribe Finance Fair 2026.

The Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (NGX Group), through its regulatory subsidiary, NGX Regulation Limited (NGX RegCo), has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing women’s financial empowerment, investor education and protection against investment fraud at the recently concluded FinTribe Finance Fair 2026. According to THISDAYLIVE, the event held on November 3, 2026, served as a platform for various stakeholders to engage, discuss and explore opportunities for promoting financial literacy and inclusion among women. The NGX Group, which oversees the operations of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of women’s financial empowerment and investor protection, stating that these initiatives are crucial to achieving sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria. The NGX Group’s efforts to promote financial inclusion and investor protection align with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) financial inclusion strategy, which aims to ensure that at least 70% of the adult population in Nigeria have access to formal financial services by 2020. With women often being underrepresented in the financial sector, the NGX Group’s focus on women’s financial empowerment is significant and reflects a growing recognition of the need to address gender disparities in access to financial services. The NGX Group’s commitment to investor protection is also noteworthy, as investment fraud remains a significant challenge in Nigeria’s financial market. According to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), investment fraud cost Nigerians an estimated N25 billion (approximately $63 million) in 2020 alone. The NGX Group’s efforts to combat investment fraud are crucial in ensuring that investors are well-informed and protected, thereby fostering a more conducive environment for investment and economic growth.
