Nigeria Aims for Temporary Petrol Price Reduction to Alleviate Cost-of-Living Crisis

The Nigerian government is mulling over a temporary reduction in petrol prices in a bid to ease the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, Businessday NG reports. According to the publication, the move is aimed at providing relief to Nigerians who have been grappling with high fuel prices and the subsequent inflation.

The government’s decision comes amidst growing public discontent over the high cost of living, with many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. The high cost of petrol, which is a major component of the cost of goods and services, has been a major contributor to the ongoing crisis.

Businessday NG did not provide further details about the proposed reduction or when it might take effect. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not yet commented on the matter.
