According to a report by Business Post Nigeria, the Federal Government has indicated that Nigeria could be declared Ebola-free by December. This development comes as a result of the country’s tireless efforts to combat the virus since its resurgence earlier this year. The announcement was not accompanied by a specific date, but it offers hope that Nigeria is nearing the end of this health crisis. However, it is crucial to note that the World Health Organization (WHO) has yet to make an official announcement regarding this matter. The WHO plays a significant role in declaring a country free of Ebola, and their confirmation will provide more credibility to the Federal Government’s claim. The potential declaration of Ebola-free status is a testament to the resilience and determination of Nigerians in the face of adversity. It also highlights the importance of global cooperation in managing health crises, particularly ones as devastating as Ebola. As the world continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic, this news serves as a beacon of hope that with concerted efforts, we can overcome such challenges.
