Nigeria has made a major drug seizure at its busiest airport. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the authorities have seized 2.55 million opioid tablets at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport in Lagos. This is one of the largest drug seizures ever made in Nigeria, highlighting the growing challenge of illicit drugs in the country. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is yet to disclose when the facility began operating this enhanced drug screening system. The NDLEA has been under pressure to combat the influx of illegal drugs into the country, particularly through its major airports.
