The Nigerian government is seeking to attract foreign investment, highlighting a pipeline worth $78.5bn at the Bangkok Investment Conference, according to reports. This move is part of an effort to boost the Nigerian economy, which has been facing challenges in recent years. The conference, attended by representatives from various countries, provides an opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its investment potential. The focus areas include agriculture, manufacturing, and infrastructure, with projects such as the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals, Mambilla Hydroelectric Power Project, and Lagos-Kano Standard Gauge Rail project being highlighted. It remains unclear when these projects will be operational, as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not provided a timeline. The investment conference is part of Nigeria’s broader strategy to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil exports.
