The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), a prominent labour union in Nigeria, has demanded a thorough and transparent investigation into the deaths of 37 people in custody of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). This call was made in a statement issued on Monday by NLC President, Mr Joe Ajaero, in Abuja.
According to Vanguard News, the victims were arrested during operations carried out by the security agency. Ajaero’s statement expressed concern over the fatalities and called for accountability and justice in the matter.
