Ahead of the 2027 presidential elections, non-indigenes in Kaduna State and Ogun State have declared their support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani’s re-election bid. In a mega rally in Kaduna State, an APC support group gathered to express their backing for the duo, while in Ogun State, a PDP chieftain, Segun Showunmi, called on non-indigene associations and hunters’ groups to throw their weight behind Tinubu’s re-election.
Speaking at the event in Kaduna State, the convener of the APC support group said, ‘We are here today to show our unwavering support for President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani. Their leadership has brought positive changes to our state and we believe they deserve another term.’
In Ogun State, Showunmi, who is also the convener of The Alternative Movement, made a similar call while addressing representatives of non-indigenes in the state and the Hunters Association in Egbaland. He urged them to mobilise massively for Tinubu’s re-election.
The move by non-indigenes to support Tinubu and Uba Sani is significant as they form a substantial part of the electorate in many states. The NNPC has not said when the facility began operating, but its impact on the economy could be significant if successful.
