NRC Denies Involvement in Abuja-Kaduna Train Ticket Scam

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has refuted allegations of involvement in a ticket scam for the Abuja-Kaduna train service, following reports by several news outlets. According to Vanguard News, the NRC issued a statement denying any part in the scam, stating that it operates on a transparent and accountable system. The Guardian Nigeria News also reported the denial, quoting the NRC’s spokesperson, as did the Daily Nigerian. The allegations of ticket racketeering have caused concern among passengers, with reports of tickets being sold at inflated prices and some passengers being turned away due to the shortage of tickets. The NRC, however, maintains that it is committed to providing a reliable and affordable train service for Nigerians. The alleged scam comes amidst growing demand for the Abuja-Kaduna train service, which has been hailed as a success story in the revitalization of Nigeria’s rail sector.
