Boosting Nigeria’s Oil Output: Ojulari Claims 600,000 bpd Increase

Nigeria's National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) claims reforms in the oil and gas sector have added 600,000 barrels per day to national crude oil production.

According to reports from PM News Nigeria and Tribune Online, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Limited) has claimed that reforms in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector have boosted the country’s crude oil production by 600,000 barrels per day (bpd). This increase raises the country’s output from about 1.2 million bpd to 1.8 million bpd, potentially strengthening Nigeria’s position in the international energy market. However, it’s important to note that NNPC has not specified when the facility began operating at this increased capacity. This development comes as the global oil market remains volatile, with oil prices fluctuating due to geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions. The increased production could provide a much-needed boost to Nigeria’s economy, which heavily relies on oil exports.
