In a significant development for Nigeria’s petroleum industry, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has inaugurated the national headquarters of the Petroleum Bunkering and Aviation Training (PBAT) door-to-door movement in Abuja. According to reports from Premium Times Nigeria and Voice of Nigeria, the event took place recently, but no exact date has been provided.
The PBAT door-to-door movement is a grassroots initiative aimed at educating Nigerians about the dangers of illegal petroleum activities and promoting the benefits of legal bunkering. The movement has been active in several states across Nigeria, but the Abuja headquarters will serve as its national nerve centre.
This move is expected to enhance the fight against petroleum theft and illegal bunkering in the nation’s capital. The PBAT door-to-door movement is one of several initiatives by the Federal Government to tackle the menace of illegal petroleum activities in Nigeria.
It is important to note that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not yet confirmed the date when the Abuja facility began operating.
The inauguration of the PBAT headquarters in Abuja underscores the First Lady’s commitment to the welfare and safety of Nigerians. It also highlights the government’s continued efforts to address the challenges posed by illegal petroleum activities in the country.
