Police Chief in Oyo State Encourages Youths to Avoid Violence and Understand Criminal Laws

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Fasogbon Olugbenga, has called on the youths of the state to shun violence and learn more about criminal laws.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, CP Fasogbon Olugbenga, has urged the youths of the state to shun violence and understand the criminal laws. According to a report by Tribune Online, the police chief made this appeal during a meeting with community leaders and youths in Ibadan, the state capital.

CP Olugbenga also urged young people to remain peaceful when protesting or engaging in any form of activism. He emphasized the importance of respecting the law and maintaining order, particularly during this election season.

In a bid to foster better relations between the police and the youths, CP Olugbenga promised to establish a Youth Advisory Council. The council, he said, would serve as a platform for young people to voice their concerns and suggestions directly to the police.

The commissioner’s call for peace and understanding comes at a critical time, as tensions have been high in Oyo State due to recent political protests and clashes between rival groups. With the general elections fast approaching, maintaining peace and order is crucial for a successful and peaceful electoral process.
