Political Warning Against Involving EFCC in Kogi Politics

A Kogi-based group has cautioned the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement against dragging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into Kogi politics.

A Kogi-based political group, the Kogi Central Progressive Elites, has issued a stern warning to the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement against involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Kogi politics. The group’s warning comes in response to the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement’s call for an investigation into the recent cash empowerment programme of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. According to Vanguard News, the group believes this call is a politically motivated attempt to undermine the lawmaker.

The Kogi Central Progressive Elites expressed concern that using the EFCC in partisan politics could compromise the anti-corruption agency’s integrity. They argued that such a move could be seen as an abuse of power and could potentially jeopardize the EFCC’s ability to carry out its mandate effectively.

The Obi-Kwankwaso Movement has not responded publicly to the Kogi Central Progressive Elites’ warning. The EFCC has also not commented on whether it will investigate Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s cash empowerment programme.
