Lagos Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has emphasized the crucial role of private sector investment in stimulating economic activities and strengthening the financial sector.
Speaking at a recent event, Hamzat asserted that the private sector plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth, particularly in Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial hub.
He argued that increased private sector investment would not only create jobs but also improve infrastructure and contribute to overall economic development.
Hamzat’s statements echo the views of many economic analysts who believe that attracting more private investment is key to accelerating economic growth in Nigeria.
According to the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the state’s economy would grow by over 10% if it attracts $1 billion in foreign direct investment.
Despite Hamzat’s optimistic outlook, the challenge of attracting and retaining private investment remains significant, given the complex business environment and policy uncertainties in Nigeria.
