Railway Retirees Appeal to President Tinubu for Intervention in Housing Policy Dispute
Nigerian railway retirees have appealed to President Bola Tinubu for intervention in the non-implementation of the FG's housing monetisation policy for their quarterly rent allowance.

In a recent development, Nigerian railway retirees have pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to intervene in a long-standing dispute over the implementation of the Federal Government’s housing monetisation policy. According to Punch Newspapers, the retirees are concerned about the non-payment of their quarterly rent allowance as stipulated by the policy. This housing policy, initially introduced to ease the burden of accommodation costs for retirees, has reportedly not been implemented as intended. As a result, the retirees are now appealing to President Tinubu to use his good offices to ensure the policy is implemented promptly. This issue highlights the importance of addressing the needs of our senior citizens, many of whom have dedicated their lives to the service of our nation. It is hoped that President Tinubu will expedite a resolution to this matter, ensuring the welfare of these dedicated Nigerians is prioritised.
