Resident Doctors at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Suspend 50-Day Strike

In a development that could bring a semblance of normalcy to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, resident doctors have suspended their 50-day strike. This comes after a meeting with the Oyo State Government and the university’s management, Tribune Online reports. The reason for the strike, which began on September 14, was due to alleged neglect of their welfare and poor working conditions. The exact terms of the agreement reached during the meeting have not been disclosed, but the doctors have agreed to resume work pending a comprehensive resolution of their issues. This suspension of the strike could provide a much-needed boost to healthcare services at the hospital, which have been severely affected by the industrial action.
