The arrests, made on October 27, 2026, come amidst concerns about the increasing use of digital platforms for criminal activities in Nigeria.

The suspects, whose identities have not been disclosed, reportedly lured their victims under the pretext of romantic interests before abducting them. The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, confirmed the arrests and expressed optimism that more suspects would be apprehended soon.

This latest development underscores the need for caution when engaging in online interactions, particularly on dating sites. It also highlights the commitment of the Rivers State Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
