Governor Makinde Pledges Security Reset after Receiving Report on Oriire Abduction

In a move to address the increasing security concerns in Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has received the report from a judicial inquiry into the Oriire student abduction and pledged a security reset. According to multiple reports, Makinde received the report on Tuesday and assured that his administration will carefully examine the recommendations and implement necessary measures to prevent a recurrence.

The Oriire abduction refers to an incident where students and teachers were abducted from their school in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The incident sparked nationwide outrage and prompted the governor to set up a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate the matter.

While speaking on the report, Makinde assured that his administration will provide accountability and ensure justice is served for the victims. He also promised to reset the security architecture in Oyo State.

The incident has raised concerns about the rising insecurity across Nigeria, with many calling for improved security measures from the government.
