In a heartbreaking incident in Fadeyi, Lagos, one individual has lost their life, while three others have been rescued following the collapse of a building under construction, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA). The building, which was still under construction, came crashing down on Saturday, causing panic and chaos in the area. The Lagos State Government has yet to confirm the cause of the collapse. The rescue operation was carried out by LASEMA officials, who managed to save three adult males from the rubble. However, one individual did not survive the incident. This tragic event serves as a grim reminder of the importance of safety regulations in construction, particularly in rapidly developing areas such as Lagos. The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) has been urging for stricter adherence to building codes and standards to prevent such incidents. The public is urged to exercise caution when in proximity to construction sites, and for developers to prioritize safety measures to ensure the protection of lives and property.
