A political group, Youth Network West Africa, has declared Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as its preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election, stating that he is the best bet for Nigeria’s future. On Sunday, October 17, the group staged a rally in Abuja to mobilise support for Tinubu’s campaign. According to Blueprint Newspapers, the rally was well-attended, with youths from various parts of the country present. The group, which has branches across West Africa, said it was impressed by Tinubu’s leadership style and his contributions to Nigeria’s development. The group also expressed optimism that Tinubu would address the country’s myriad of challenges if elected in 2027. The development comes as Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, continues to build his political base ahead of the 2027 elections. The All Progressives Congress (APC), the political party to which Tinubu belongs, has yet to officially announce its candidate for the presidential election. However, Tinubu is widely perceived as a strong contender due to his political influence and deep pockets. The 2027 elections are expected to be a hotly contested affair, with several other politicians also eyeing the presidency.
