Tinubu Emphasizes Youth Empowerment as Key to Nigeria’s Economic Growth

Former President Tinubu has underscored the necessity of empowering Nigeria’s youth as a significant contributor to the nation’s economic development. In a series of statements made at various forums recently, Tinubu emphasized that the country’s youth population presents a valuable asset that needs to be harnessed effectively to propel economic growth. According to Vanguard News, Tinubu made these remarks while speaking at the Innovation and Youth Empowerment Summit, where he highlighted the importance of creating an enabling environment for young entrepreneurs to thrive.

‘Our youth are our future. They are our greatest asset. If we invest in them, we are investing in our nation’s future,’ Tinubu said at the summit. The former president’s sentiments were echoed by a group that has pledged support for his innovation and youth empowerment reforms, as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria. The group, comprising young Nigerians, praised Tinubu’s commitment to promoting innovation and creating opportunities for the youth.

‘Tinubu’s reforms have demonstrated a clear understanding of the importance of empowering our youth. We fully support his efforts to create an enabling environment for young Nigerians to innovate and grow,’ the group’s spokesperson stated.

In addition, Vanguard News reported that Governor Wike of Rivers State also expressed support for the continuation of Tinubu’s economic reforms, acknowledging their positive impact on the nation’s economy. The reports come amid ongoing debates about Tinubu’s intentions to seek re-election in 2027, with the Alliance for Democracy (ADC) campaign asserting that Tinubu is afraid to face Nigerians and has no business seeking re-election, according to Vanguard News.
