Governor Okpebholo Claims Petrol Costs Over N3,000 per Litre in the UK

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has sparked controversy with his recent assertion that petrol costs over N3,000 per litre in the United Kingdom. The claim was made during an event on Thursday, September 24th, where the governor also expressed optimism about the current state of Nigeria’s economy.

According to a report by Tribune Online, Okpebholo stated that Nigerians are ‘doing very well’ despite the current price of fuel in Nigeria. He attributed this to the high cost of petrol in England, which he claimed is N3,000 per litre.

However, it is important to note that neither the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) nor any other reliable sources have confirmed Okpebholo’s claim. The price of fuel in the UK is subject to fluctuations and varies from source to source, making it difficult to verify Okpebholo’s specific figure.

The governor’s statement comes amidst ongoing debate about Nigeria’s economy and the impact of the current administration on citizens’ livelihoods. President Bola Tinubu’s government has been implementing economic reforms aimed at improving the nation’s overall financial situation, but these have faced criticism from various quarters.

Okpebholo’s comments are likely to fuel further discussion about the state of Nigeria’s economy and the role of petrol prices in shaping citizens’ experiences. As more information becomes available, it will be interesting to see how this story develops.
