Telecoms Commission Calls for Increased Investment as Data Consumption Surges in Nigeria

In a recent development, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has sought increased investments in telecoms infrastructure as data consumption in Nigeria surged by 47%. According to multiple sources, including Punch Newspapers and the Google News, Nigeria’s data consumption reached 1.66 million terabytes in July, marking a significant increase of 47%.

The NCC has partnered with various stakeholders to seek data-driven investment in Nigeria’s digital sector, as highlighted by the News Agency of Nigeria.

This development comes at a time when the demand for digital services is on the rise in Nigeria, making it crucial to expand digital connectivity to cater to this growing need. The investment will not only boost telecoms infrastructure but also drive economic growth and job creation.
