In an exclusive interview with Trust TV News, ADC spokesman Yabagi Sani asserted that Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, will make it possible for Nigeria to buy fuel at a significantly cheaper price if elected. This claim was made amidst the ongoing political discourse ahead of the 2027 elections.
While it is unclear how Atiku plans to achieve this, Sani argued that his experience in business and politics make him uniquely qualified to address the persistent issue of fuel scarcity and high prices in Nigeria.
Atiku’s main opponents in the upcoming election include incumbent Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Vice President Peter Obi of the Labour Party, and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
It is worth noting that Atiku Abubakar has a history of making ambitious promises on the campaign trail, some of which have been difficult to deliver upon once in office. However, if his pledge regarding fuel prices proves achievable, it could be a game-changer for many Nigerian voters struggling with the high cost of living.
This development comes as Nigerians are increasingly concerned about the economy, with inflation and unemployment rates remaining stubbornly high despite the government’s efforts to stimulate growth. The 2027 elections will be closely watched by both domestic and international observers, who are eager to see if any of the candidates can offer a viable solution to Nigeria’s myriad economic challenges.
