Nigeria Condemns Deadly Houthi Attack on Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Airport

Nigeria has condemned a deadly Houthi attack on Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh airport, adding to international concern over the escalating conflict in Yemen.

According to Premium Times Nigeria, the Nigerian government described the incident as a dangerous escalation that violated Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and undermined efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

In a statement, the Nigerian Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over the attack and called for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

The attack on Riyadh’s international airport on Sunday killed one person and wounded 11 others, a day after another deadly attack forced authorities to suspend operations there, as reported by Vanguard News.

China also condemned the Houthi attacks on Saudi airports and energy infrastructure, expressing serious concern over the escalation of the conflict, according to Punch Newspapers.

The latest attack is the second in two days to target Riyadh’s airport. The first attack on Saturday claimed by the Houthi rebels resulted in the suspension of operations at the airport, impacting hundreds of travelers.

The conflict in Yemen, pitting the Houthi rebels against a Saudi-led coalition, has been ongoing since 2015. The war has resulted in widespread humanitarian suffering, with millions of Yemenis in need of aid.
