World Bank Targets $5.79bn Private Investment for Nigeria’s Economic Growth

The World Bank has set a target of attracting $5.79bn in private investment for Nigeria’s economic growth, as reported by TVC News and Realnews Magazine. This investment is expected to create 850,000 jobs, according to Realnews Magazine. The World Bank’s focus on private investment comes amidst warnings from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank about the potential jobs crisis in Nigeria and other developing economies due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). According to a report by Vanguard News, the IMF and World Bank are urging governments and businesses to prepare workers and deploy AI technology to create employment rather than exacerbate job losses.
