The African Democratic Congress (ADC), a political party in Nigeria, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of worsening economic hardship in the country, according to reports by Vanguard News, Daily Post Nigeria, and Tribune Online. The Jigawa State governorship candidate of the ADC, Sabo Muhammad Nakudu, made the allegation in a post on his official Facebook page on Sunday. According to Vanguard News, Nakudu stated that Tinubu’s policies have placed an enormous burden on ordinary citizens. Daily Post Nigeria reported that Nakudu accused the Tinubu-led administration of subjecting Nigerians to hardship through various means. Tribune Online reported that ADC Vice-Presidential candidate, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has thrown down the gauntlet to Tinubu’s economic team to open a debate over the hardship. The ADC’s allegations come amidst widespread discontent and protests over the economic situation in the country. While the Tinubu administration has not yet responded to the ADC’s accusations, the party has called for a debate to address the hardships Nigerians are facing under the current administration.
