According to Vanguard News, the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), labelling their Presidential Campaign Council as a ‘Nebuchadnezzar Coalition’. The MDPCO accused the APC of relying on influential politicians to mask what they described as the failures of the current administration.
The MDPCO’s criticism comes as the 2027 general elections approach. The Punch Newspapers reported that the MDPCO’s Director-General, Tunde Okewale, stated that the Makinde/Daura ticket will ‘reset Nigeria’ if elected.
In a separate report by Tribune Online, the MDPCO cautioned state campaign coordinators against appointing unsuitable polling agents.
While the APC has not commented on the MDPCO’s statements, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has welcomed the criticism, stating that the APC’s failures are becoming increasingly apparent to Nigerians.
