The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has challenged Governor Seyi Makinde’s ambitious plan to defeat President Bola Tinubu in 12 states during the 2027 presidential election. According to a report by Vanguard News, the Lagos APC described Makinde’s declaration as grandiose, wishful thinking, and political bravado without electoral evidence.
The Lagos APC’s stance comes at a time when President Tinubu enjoys widespread support from APC stakeholders, as demonstrated by recent endorsements in states like Kebbi (Punch Newspapers).
The stakes are high as the 2027 elections approach, with both Tinubu and Makinde positioning themselves for a fierce contest. However, the Lagos APC’s dismissal of Makinde’s claims raises questions about the latter’s electoral prospects.
The 2027 elections will be a significant test of Nigeria’s political landscape, as the country navigates the complexities of democratic governance.
