Court Postpones Kayode Bello’s Nigerian Law School Admission Case

The Federal High Court in Abuja has postponed the hearing of the case challenging the admission of Kayode Bello into the Nigerian Law School. This development was reported by the New Times Newspaper on Tuesday, 18th October, 2026. According to the report, the court adjourned the case to a later date due to the absence of some parties. The specific reason for the absence and the new hearing date were not disclosed. Kayode Bello, a medical doctor, had sued the Council of Legal Education, the Attorney-General of the Federation, and the Law School over his admission into the Law School on the basis of his MBBS degree. The case has generated much discussion in legal circles, with some questioning the wisdom of allowing a doctor to practice law. However, it remains to be seen how the court will rule on the matter, as the case is yet to be conclusively decided.
