NLC Protests Anti-labour Practices at Wizchino Engineering in Abuja

In a move to highlight and address alleged anti-labour practices by Wizchino Engineering Company Limited, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the National Union of Civil Engineering Construction Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW) held a protest outside the Abuja construction firm on Wednesday.

According to THISDAYLIVE, the labour groups took issue with various labor rights violations, such as unpaid wages and unsafe working conditions.

The picketing comes after a series of similar actions by the NLC in recent months, demonstrating a growing concern for workers’ rights in the construction industry.

It remains unclear whether Wizchino Engineering Company Limited has responded to the labour groups’ demands or if negotiations are ongoing.

This story matters to Nigerian workers and labour advocates, as it highlights the ongoing struggle for fair labor practices in the construction sector and sets a precedent for future actions against companies that violate workers’ rights.
