2027 Election: Atiku Warns Tinubu, Says His Record Will Be on the Ballot

Atiku Abubakar, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, has warned President Bola Tinubu that his economic record will be a critical factor in the 2027 presidential election. In a statement released on Saturday by his Director of Strategic Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku stated that Nigerians have rejected Tinubu’s administration due to the current hardships. According to Atiku, the 2027 election will serve as a referendum on Tinubu’s performance as President.

‘The 2027 presidential election will be a referendum on Tinubu’s record,’ Atiku declared in the statement. The former Vice President has been a vocal critic of Tinubu’s administration, often pointing to the economic challenges facing the country. Atiku has also called for Tinubu’s removal from office in 2027, citing his poor economic performance as justification.

This is not the first time Atiku has criticized Tinubu’s administration. Earlier this month, Atiku said that Tinubu’s economic record was enough to justify his removal from the Presidential Villa in 2027. According to Atiku, under Tinubu’s watch, the economy has suffered, with high inflation, unemployment, and a depreciating naira.

‘Tinubu’s economic record justifies his removal from the Presidential Villa in 2027,’ Atiku stated. It remains unclear whether Tinubu will seek re-election in 2027. The Nigerian constitution allows for a maximum of two terms for the President, and Tinubu is currently in his first term.

This story matters to Nigerian readers because it highlights the ongoing political debates and criticisms of President Tinubu’s administration. As the 2027 election approaches, Nigerians will be closely watching Tinubu’s performance and evaluating his record.
