The Power of Winnings: Helabet’s Olajay on Regulatory Shifts and User Growth

In the ever-evolving landscape of the Nigerian iGaming sector, regulatory changes have been a significant talking point. Following the Supreme Court’s 2024 ruling that decentralised the industry and granted state-level regulatory authority, companies like Helabet have had to adapt quickly to stay ahead. In an exclusive interview with Vanguard News, Helabet representative Olajay shared insights into the company’s approach to the regulatory chaos, revealed some user growth figures, and outlined plans for the future.

According to Olajay, Helabet has experienced a surge in user acquisition since their advertising strategies began to focus on actually paying winners. The representative explained that while initial advertising can bring in a player, the promise of fair and timely payouts is what keeps them coming back.

Olajay also highlighted the importance of understanding and adapting to the unique regulatory environment in each state. He emphasised that Helabet’s approach is to collaborate with state regulators, ensuring compliance while maintaining a user-friendly experience.

When asked about user growth figures, Olajay revealed that Helabet has seen a 300% increase in new registrations since the start of 2026. He attributed this growth to the company’s commitment to transparency, fair play, and timely payouts.

Looking ahead, Olajay shared that Helabet’s focus is on expanding their product offerings, improving user experience, and continuing to innovate within the iGaming space. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a customer-centric approach, ensuring that Helabet remains a trusted choice for Nigerian gamers.

As the Nigerian iGaming sector continues to evolve, companies like Helabet will play a crucial role in shaping its future. With a focus on transparency, fairness, and user satisfaction, Helabet is poised to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the shifting regulatory landscape.
