In an interview with Tribune Online, Hajia Aishat Oyiza Omade, the National Director of Planning of Relax Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), has dismissed speculations of a political rift among the associates of Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Omade, a close ally of the governor, said there is no crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, contrary to rumours circulating on social media.
‘There is no rift among Ododo’s men. We are united and focused on delivering on our mandate to the good people of Kogi State,’ Omade asserted.
The replacement of Senator Abubakar Sadiku Ohere as the APC Chairman in Kogi West, which has been a subject of controversy, did not cause any split within the party, according to Omade. She explained that the decision was in line with the party’s constitution and was aimed at strengthening the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
‘We understand that change is necessary for progress, and we are ready to embrace it. The party is stronger than ever, and we are determined to maintain our position as the leading political party in Kogi State,’ Omade added.
Tribune Online reports that Omade’s assurances come amidst reports of a power struggle within the APC in Kogi State, with some party members allegedly expressing dissatisfaction with the leadership of Governor Ododo.
The development is significant as it shows the resolve of Governor Ododo’s associates to remain united and focused on delivering on their mandate to the people of Kogi State.
