New Army Battalion and Artillery Regiment Deployed to Tackle Banditry in Kano

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, commends Nigerian Army for strategic military build-up to combat banditry in Kano.

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Jibrin Barau, has praised the Nigerian Army for their strategic military build-up in Kano, aimed at curbing the persisting banditry in the state. In a statement on Sunday Aborisade in Abuja, Barau hailed the efforts of President Bola Tinubu, Chief of Army Staff Farouk Yahaya, and Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for their collective approach to addressing the security challenge in Kano. According to THISDAYLIVE, the Nigerian Army has deployed a new battalion and an artillery regiment to the state to intensify the ongoing fight against banditry. The deployment follows a series of attacks by bandits that have left several lives lost and properties destroyed in Kano. The military build-up is part of the broader strategy to tackle insecurity across Nigeria, particularly in the North West region where banditry and kidnapping have become a significant concern. This development comes at a critical time when President Tinubu is seeking to rejuvenate the security sector to better address the myriad of security challenges facing the nation. This move is expected to boost the morale of security personnel and further strengthen the ongoing fight against banditry in Kano.
