Nasarawa SDP Governorship Candidate Distributes Cars, Cash, and Equipment to Women Leaders
Former Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, the SDP governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, has distributed vehicles, cash, and household equipment to his party’s women leaders across the state.

According to a report by Premium Times Nigeria, the former Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Abubakar Adamu, the SDP governorship candidate in Nasarawa State, has distributed vehicles, cash, and household equipment to his party’s women leaders across the state. The distribution, which took place recently, saw 163 women leaders receiving their share of the gifts. The report did not specify the amount of cash given to each recipient, but it stated that the gifts also included household equipment. The move is seen as a strategy to garner support for the SDP ahead of the forthcoming governorship elections in Nasarawa State. This is not the first time such a gesture has been made by a governorship candidate in the state. In 2023, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Sule, was reported to have distributed cars to over 400 women leaders across the state in a similar move aimed at securing votes. While such gestures may be common in Nigerian politics, the impact on the electoral outcome remains uncertain.
