Tinubu Congratulates Zenith Bank Founder, Jim Ovia, on 75th Birthday

President Bola Tinubu, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Deji Elumoye, has extended his warm felicitations to the founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Mr Jim Ovia, on the occasion of his 75th birthday. According to Elumoye, Tinubu described Ovia as an accomplished banker and distinguished business leader who has made significant contributions to the Nigerian economy. The President noted Ovia’s role in the growth and development of Zenith Bank, which he founded in 1990, into one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions. Tinubu wished Ovia good health, happiness, and many more years of impactful service to Nigeria and the global business community. Ovia, a renowned philanthropist, is also the founder of Visafone Communications Limited, which was later merged with Mtn Nigeria in 2013. His philanthropic activities cut across education, healthcare, and empowerment of small and medium enterprises. The celebration of Ovia’s 75th birthday comes at a time when the Nigerian economy is grappling with challenges, with calls for more private sector involvement in driving growth and development.
