APC Gears Up for Issue-Based Campaign, Highlights Tinubu’s Achievements

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is gearing up for an issue-based campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election, according to a senior party leader, Senator Ahmed Yar’i. Yar’i, who is a former Governor of Zamfara State and a close associate of Tinubu, revealed this in an interview with THISDAYLIVE. The APC, he said, is ready to go all out to showcase Tinubu’s achievements and convince Nigerians of his suitability for the top office. “Asiwaju has demonstrated exemplary leadership in various capacities, from Lagos State politics to national politics,” Yar’i stated. “He has a clear vision for the nation, and we believe he is the best candidate to lead Nigeria at this critical juncture.”. Yar’i’s comments come amid reports that other political parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Accord Party, are considering joining forces with the APC to boost Tinubu’s re-election bid. The APC’s campaign flag-off is scheduled for Saturday in Kaduna, according to party sources. This move towards an issue-based campaign is significant, as it signals a shift away from the often divisive and personality-driven politics that have characterized previous elections in Nigeria. By focusing on Tinubu’s achievements and policy proposals, the APC hopes to appeal to a wider cross-section of voters and build a more unified and stable nation.
