Following the conclusion of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Bashir Ahmad, Senior Special Assistant on Digital and New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, has departed for Abuja. According to a report by Leadership Newspapers, Ahmad was part of Nigeria’s delegation at the UNGA, which took place from September 19 to September 28, 2026.
The exact date of his departure from New York is unknown, but the return marks the end of an eventful week for Nigeria in the global diplomatic arena. The UNGA provides a platform for world leaders to discuss and address pressing global issues, including peace and security, climate change, and sustainable development.
