Central Bank of Nigeria Reduces MPR to 23%

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has taken a bold step in the monetary policy sphere, announcing a reduction in the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR), which now stands at 23%, down from the previous rate of 26.5%. According to THISDAYLIVE, the CBN made this decision during its meeting on Tuesday.

The exact details regarding why the Central Bank decided to make this reduction have not been specified yet, but it is expected that this move will have a significant impact on the Nigerian economy, particularly in terms of interest rates and inflation.

Note: This article is based on reports from THISDAYLIVE and Business Post Nigeria. The CBN has not released an official statement regarding when the MPR began operating under this new rate or why the decision was made.
