The UN Global Compact Network Nigeria recently held its 2026 CEO Forum, themed ‘Financing a Dignified Future: Aligning Capital, Policy and Business Action.’ According to reports by Vanguard News, the forum aimed at bringing together chief executives of various organizations to discuss ways of attracting capital to fund projects that can improve the lives of Nigerians.
The UN Global Compact Network Nigeria has stated that while Nigeria is not lacking in capital, it does not have enough investable opportunities that can attract and absorb the available capital. This was disclosed during the forum by the network’s Executive Secretary, Simi Nwogugu.
In her words: ‘Nigeria has a lot of capital, but we lack bankable projects that can attract and absorb this capital.’
