In a recent statement, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has refuted claims that he received N50 billion from former Lagos State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Bola Tinubu, for the expansion of Ibadan Airport. According to Premium Times Nigeria, the governor stated that the airport project was being funded entirely by the state government.
The governor also pledged to transmit power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo whenever he is unavailable if elected president in 2027, as reported by the same outlet.
This denial comes after weeks of speculation surrounding Tinubu’s alleged financial involvement in the airport expansion project. However, it is worth noting that this claim has not been independently confirmed from any other sources.
