The allegations come from claimants who say they have been embroiled in a long-standing land dispute with the governor’s son, Jordan Abam, over a plot of land in Abuja. According to a report by Nigeria Abuja on Google News, the claimants allege that Jordan promised to facilitate the acquisition of the land within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), based on his prior representations that he routinely provided such facilitation and that he had his father’s knowledge and approval. However, the claimants claim that the deal fell through, and they are now seeking the intervention of the EFCC, alleging that Jordan demanded a $2.1 million bribe to resolve the dispute. Vanguard News also reported on the matter, stating that the claimants took Jordan to the EFCC in October 2026, accusing him of fraud and corruption. The EFCC has not yet commented on the matter. The allegations, if proven, could have significant implications for the governor and his son, as well as for the broader issue of land acquisition in Abuja. The dispute highlights the need for transparency and accountability in the real estate sector, particularly in the FCT, where land disputes are common. This is not the first time that the governor’s son has been accused of corruption, as he was also embroiled in a controversial land deal with the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in 2023.
