In a pre-match interview, Fenerbahçe forward Vedat Muriqi issued a stern warning to Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who plays for Galatasaray, ahead of their highly anticipated Turkish Super Lig clash at Rams Park. According to Daily Post Nigeria, Muriqi asserted that Osimhen should not expect an easy game as Fenerbahçe’s defence is capable of silencing him.
Osimhen, who has been in impressive form this season, has scored six goals in eight games for Galatasaray. However, Muriqi insists that the Nigerian striker will face a formidable defence when the two teams clash on Monday.
‘He [Osimhen] should not expect to find the game easy. Our defenders will neutralise him,’ Muriqi warned.
This clash promises to be an exciting one, with both teams battling for supremacy in the Turkish Super Lig. Fenerbahçe currently sits in second place, three points behind leaders Beşiktaş, while Galatasaray is in fifth place, five points behind the leaders. The stakes are high, and both teams will be looking to secure a crucial victory.
This is not the first time Muriqi has taken a dig at Osimhen. In a previous interview, Muriqi claimed that Osimhen was overrated and that his teammates at Napoli were carrying him. Osimhen responded by scoring a brace in Napoli’s 4-2 win over Fenerbahçe in the Europa League last season.
